The website runs on a virtual server that I manage at a hosting provider. When you open a page, the web server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer and browser details.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is running the site securely and reliably. Logs are kept only as long as that requires and are not merged with other data.
I use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that I host myself. The data stays on my own server and is not shared with third parties. Umami sets no cookies and does not store full IP addresses. It records only aggregated details such as pages viewed, referrer, browser, operating system and device type.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is understanding which content gets read. Measurement runs only on the production domain builtwithmaxim.com. You can object at any time by emailing me or by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser.
The fonts used (Space Grotesk and Sometype Mono) are served locally from this server. Opening the site makes no connection to Google or any other font provider.
If you email or call me, I process your details to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. I delete the data once it is no longer needed for that purpose and no legal retention duty applies.
For intro calls I link to my booking page at Cal.com. You leave this website only when you click the link. If you book a slot there, I process the details you enter (name, email address, chosen time and, if given, your message) to arrange the call. Cal.com supports me as a service provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. The privacy notices of Cal.com apply in addition.
This website sets no cookies and embeds no external content such as videos, maps or social media plugins. Links to other websites, for example client projects or GitHub, are plain links. Once you click, the privacy notices of that provider apply.
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Write to hi@builtwithmaxim.com to use them.
